Logistics

Transportation

Inventory Management
The process of tracking and managing all stock owned by a business. The goal is to meet customer demand while avoiding overstocking.
Distribution
All activities involved in delivering products to the end consumer. Distribution aims to get products to customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Loading and Unloading
The process of placing goods onto vehicles for transport and removing them at the destination.
Customs Clearance
The completion of necessary customs procedures when goods cross international borders.
Routing
The planning of routes and methods for transporting goods in the shortest, fastest, or most economical way.
Logistics Costs
The expenses associated with the planning, execution, and control of the movement and storage of goods, services, or information within a supply chain. These costs include transportation, warehousing, packaging, handling, inventory management, and administrative expenses.
Reverse Logistics:
The process of returning used or damaged products for recycling or disposal. This includes return management and waste management.
Freight
The charge paid for the transportation service, commonly used in the context of sea transportation.
Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Logistics
The transportation and distribution process for quickly consumed products, such as food and pharmaceuticals.
Cross-Docking
The process of transferring goods directly from a distribution center to customers without long-term storage.
